What’s Happening at Other Chapters

This information is compiled from Northwest AAW chapter’s websites and newsletters. You should check with the specific chapter if you plan to attend one of their meetings.

The Inland Northwest Woodturners are meeting November 7th at the Riverview Retirement Community Workshop in Spokane. The demonstration will be on turned work piercing.


The Northwest Woodturners in Beaverton, Oregon next meeting on November 7th. Carl Jacobson will be demonstrating Using Carbide Tools. Also, congratulations to NWWT VP John Beechwood on being elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the AAW. He starts his new role in January 2020.

The Portneuf Valley Woodturners in Pocatello, ID are meeting on November 13th. There will be three mini-demos on Christmas ornaments.

The Willamette Valley Woodturners in Salem, Oregon will be meeting on November 14th. This meeting will be the annual live auction event.


The Seattle Woodturners are meeting on November 14th. Bill Roeder and Heidi Miller will demonstrate woven German fine-skein willow baskets.

The Mid-Columbia Woodturners in Pasco are meeting on November 9th. Damon from the Spokane club will demonstrate camera assisted hollowing.

The South Coast Woodturners in Reedsport, OR are meeting on November 9th. Reed Gray, aka Robohippy, will be the demonstrator.


The Woodturners of Olympia are meeting on November 12th. The demonstration will be off-center turning.


The Northwest Washington Woodturners in Mt. Vernon are meeting on November 21st. This will be their Holiday Potluck Party.

The Cascade Woodturners in Portland, OR are meeting on November 21st. Steve Newberry will be the demonstrator.

The Strait Turners are meeting at the Gardiner Community Center in Sequim on November 26th. The program has not been announced.

The Southwest Washington Woodturners will be meeting on November 13th at the Friends of the Carpenter in Vancouver, WA. Rick Rich will demonstrate turning a snowman.

The Olympic Peninsula Woodturners holding will be meeting on November 19th at the Kitsap Adventist School Gymnasium. Note that this is a week earlier than normal due to the Thanksgiving holiday. At this meeting Brad Stave will demonstrate “How to Hold Most Anything”.

The Greater Vancouver Woodturners Guild in Vancouver, B.C. are meeting on November 28th. Art Liestman will demonstrate the doughnut chuck.
